What we collect

When you contact us

If you fill in our quote form, call or email us, we collect your name and phone number, and your email address, postcode and any details about what you need, if you give them.

When we survey, fit or service a stairlift

We collect your address, details of your staircase and home, and the details of the lift we supply or work on. We keep records of any servicing and repairs.

With your permission, we may photograph a finished installation for our website. We never show your name or address alongside it.

Information about your health

You may tell us about a health condition or disability, for example so we can recommend the right lift, or to claim VAT relief. We only use this with your explicit consent, or where the law requires us to keep it, such as VAT relief declarations.

When you use our website

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to see how people use our website, such as which pages they visit. This doesn’t tell us who you are. See our cookie policy for details.

Why we use your information

  • To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote. We do this because you’ve asked us to, before any contract.
  • To supply, fit, service and repair your stairlift. We need to do this to carry out our contract with you, including any warranty.
  • To keep business, tax and VAT records. The law requires us to.
  • To improve our website. Only with your consent, through the cookie banner.

We don’t send marketing emails, and we never sell your information.

Who we share it with

  • Manufacturers and suppliers, when we order a lift or a made-to-measure rail for you
  • The companies that host our website and email
  • Google, for website analytics, if you’ve accepted analytics cookies
  • HMRC and other authorities, when the law requires it

Google may process website data in the United States. Where information leaves the UK, we make sure it’s protected by safeguards that UK law recognises.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don’t go ahead: [1 month]
  • Customer records: six years after we last work for you, to cover warranties, servicing and tax records
  • Website analytics: 14 months

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the information we hold about you
  • correct anything that’s wrong
  • delete your information, where we don’t need to keep it by law
  • restrict or stop using it, in some circumstances
  • send it to you or another organisation in a format you can reuse

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email or call us. We’ll reply within one month.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first and we’ll put it right if we can. We’ll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days.
