A reconditioned stairlift is a used lift that we’ve fully checked, refurbished and tested for a new home. It costs less than new, and our own engineers fit it in the same way as a new lift.
We supply reconditioned straight and curved stairlifts, including Brooks, Homeglide and Otolift models. Every one comes with our own warranty.
We start with a free home survey, usually the same day or the next. We cover Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk.
How much does a reconditioned stairlift cost?
A reconditioned straight stairlift costs £2,000 to £3,500 or more, and a curved one £4,000 to £7,500 or more, including fitting. Here’s how that compares with new.
| Reconditioned | New | |
|---|---|---|
| Straight stairlift | £2,000 – £3,500+ | £3,500 – £4,900+ |
| Curved stairlift | £4,000 – £7,500+ | £6,900 – £9,500+ |
| Warranty | 1 or 2 years, depending on the make | 5 years |
| Rail | Straight: reconditioned, or new if you prefer. Curved: normally new | New |
Prices include fitting and exclude VAT.
Most of our customers with a disability qualify for VAT relief and pay no VAT.
A reconditioned lift costs less, and it’s fitted and tested by our own engineers in the same way as a new one. A new lift has a longer warranty and gives you the latest models. We’ll talk you through both at your survey.

Lifts arrive with us in all sorts of condition. Every one has to meet our standard before it leaves.
Carefully chosen
Most of our reconditioned lifts are ones we’ve bought back from customers. We only take on makes our team is fully trained and qualified to fit.
Mechanical overhaul
We go over every mechanical part of the chair and drive unit, test it, and replace anything that needs it. Parts that wear with use are replaced with new ones.
Cosmetic refurbishment
We replace any broken or cracked parts, and the fabrics are deep cleaned or changed.
Rail prepared
Straight rails are checked and fitted with a new rack, the toothed strip the lift drives along. You can have a new rail if you prefer. Curved lifts normally get a brand-new rail made for your stairs.
Have a stairlift you no longer need? If it’s a make we work with and in good condition, we may be able to buy it. We’ll take it out and take it away.
