A curved stairlift is for stairs that turn a corner, have a half-landing or a few winding steps. The rail is made to fit your staircase and follows every bend, so you stay seated from top to bottom.
We start with a free home survey, usually the same day or the next. We measure your stairs, recommend the right lift and give you a written quote. Most curved stairlifts are fitted within a week.
We cover Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk.
How much does a curved stairlift cost?
A new curved stairlift costs £6,900 to £9,500 or more. A reconditioned one costs £4,000 to £7,500 or more. Both include fitting. Curved lifts cost more than straight ones because each rail is made to fit your staircase. Your exact price is confirmed in a written quote after the free survey.
Prices include fitting and exclude VAT.
Most of our customers with a disability qualify for VAT relief and pay no VAT.
What affects the price
- whether you choose a new or reconditioned lift
- the length of the rail and how many bends it follows
- how the rail finishes at the top and bottom: stopping at the top step, curving round onto the landing, or wrapping round the bottom post for a neater finish
- the lift you choose
- extras, such as a powered swivel seat or a powered footrest
What’s included
- a free home survey and written quote
- a rail made to measure for your stairs
- fitting by our own engineers, never subcontractors
- a demonstration of how to use the lift before we leave
- a five-year warranty on new lifts, and one to two years on reconditioned lifts, depending on the make
If your stairs have a landing in the middle, two straight stairlifts can sometimes cost less than one curved lift. We’ll tell you if that’s an option at your survey.

We measure your stairs
At the free survey, we measure every step, turn and landing. We also agree how the rail should finish at the top and bottom, so the lift parks out of the way when you’re not using it.
Your rail is made to order
The rail is made from those measurements to fit your staircase. Reconditioned curved lifts normally get a brand-new rail too. Most curved lifts are fitted within a week. More complex rails take longer, and we’ll tell you exactly when.
Fitted and demonstrated
Our own engineers fit the rail and the lift. We test it with you and show you how to use it before we leave.
The curved stairlifts we fit
We fit two main curved lifts. Between them, they suit most curved staircases, including narrow and winding ones.
Flow X
Made by our main supplier, Access BDD. The seat turns as the lift moves round each bend, keeping you in a comfortable position all the way up.
- fits stairs as narrow as 610mm
- one slim rail, which can go on either side of the stairs
- carries up to 19 stone 10lb (125kg)
- won’t move until the seatbelt is fastened
Otolift Modul-Air Smart
Otolift’s latest model. We fit Otolift lifts new or reconditioned.
- fits stairs as narrow as 700mm
- one slim rail, just 6cm across, usually fitted on the inside of the stairs so the wide part of each step stays clear
- powered folding footrest as standard
- battery power, so it still works in a power cut
Reconditioned curved stairlifts
A reconditioned stairlift is a used lift that has been refurbished and prepared for a new home. It costs less than new, and our own engineers fit it in the same way as a new lift.
Our reconditioned curved lifts are Otolift and Brooks models. Every one is fully checked, tested and refurbished before it leaves us, and it normally comes with a brand-new rail made for your stairs.
Reconditioned lifts come with our own warranty of one to two years, depending on the make.
